BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu Sentenced to Life Imprisonment

A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment on terrorism-related charges. Kanu was convicted on seven counts, including incitement of violence and broadcasting instructions for violent acts. While prosecutors had sought the death penalty, the judge opted for life sentences, with some shorter terms running concurrently. Kanu’s legal team has announced plans to appeal the ruling.
